Industries we serve
Our client base covers industries from fleet maintenance to construction, from software development to facilities management. Below you can find a sample of the industries we have worked in along with examples of the work we have carried out.
Construction
As the construction sector continues to recover and grow, there is increasing pressure for contractors to maintain high standards of safety, quality and environmental performance. ISO Standards (notably BS EN ISO 9001:2015, BS EN ISO 14001:2015 and BS ISO 45001:2018) are now often required as a prerequisite to tender, especially for public contracts.
We have introduced numerous integrated management systems to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, BS EN ISO 14001:2015 and BS ISO 45001:2018 standards as well as assisting contractors in carrying out Pre-Qualifying Questionnaires to PAS 91:2013 (amended 2017).
We have also provided our clients with a wide range of services from assisting with risk assessment and method statements to preparing site safety plans and carrying out site safety inspections.
Manufacturing
In order to remain competitive in today’s’ markets, businesses must ensure their products meet consistently high-quality standards. In doing so, this can help reduce product failures and improve company reputation. BS EN ISO 9001:2015 provides the framework for ensuring high-quality output as well as continually assessing areas for improvement and advancement.
This is not without risk, however. Working with large and complicated machinery as part of complex processes can cause serious injuries or worse if not operated properly. These risks can often be mitigated by carrying out PUWER Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures. We have assisted clients in the manufacturing sector to ensure their machinery and equipment meets the required safety standards, helping to reduce accident rates and improve safety cultures within these organisations.
Engineering
Davidson Associates have a number of clients in the engineering sector, ranging from light engineering to precision engineering and injection moulding. We continue to assist these clients by implementing and maintaining high levels of both quality and safety through the introduction of BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and BS ISO 45001:2018 standards.
We also ensure they fulfil their obligations under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (NI) 1999 by carrying out PUWER Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures. We carry out regular factory inspections and have introduced and assisted in managing BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and BS ISO 45001:2018 systems.
Transport & Fleet Maintenance
The transport industry is what keeps economies running. Without it, shelves would be empty, nothing would be built. Everything would slowly grind to a halt. The transport industry in N.I. is responsible for moving billions of pounds worth of goods on an annual basis. In order to ensure that vehicles are kept in a safe condition, there is a significant level of maintenance required.
We have assisted one of our clients by helping them through the transition to BS EN ISO 14001:2015 and updating their system to ISO 45001:2018 standard, while carrying out a full update of their COSHH management.
Facilities Management & Security
Businesses within the Facilities Management & Security sectors have to operate within strict guidelines and legislation. They typically encounter higher levels of risk and require detailed and thorough policies and procedures along with extensive training to reduce this risk.
We assisted numerous client in particular with upgrading systems and transitioning to the new BS ISO 45001:2018, BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN ISO 14001:2015 standards while maintaining substantial growth and expansion.
Legal Sector
Maintaining high standards of service delivery and documentation is of paramount importance within the legal sector.
At Davidson Associates we have assisted with the maintenance of quality management systems as well as assistance in the transition to the new BS EN ISO 9001:2015 standard and introduction of BS EN ISO 14001:2015. We have also provided training in the sector, assisting clients in maintaining high standards of both quality and safety within the workplace.
Waste Sector
Waste management and recycling is a fast growing, high risk industry. With a wide range of high level risks, from street/kerb collections to movement and segregation of pedestrians and vehicular traffic across Material Recovery Facilities (MRF’s), strong safety management is key in preventing serious incidents.
We have assisted a range of clients in the waste management sector, assisting with risk assessments and safe operating procedures, site traffic management plans, traffic management in respect of house collections, auditing and investigation of serious incidents
Food Industry
The food & drinks sectors is one of the main manufacturing sectors in the UK by a long way, accounting for around 16% of all manufacturing output, and over £79 billion in sales annually.
We have experience assisting a variety of organisations in the food sector, working with well known local and national food processing plants / breweries to small cafe’s, in the provision of Food Hygiene and HACCP training, risk assessments, safety inspections, problem solving and incident investigations.
Charitable Groups
Charitable groups often play a large part in providing vital services within communities, often including training, rehabilitation and assistance to the most vulnerable in society.
However the diverse nature of clientele they work with provides a multitude of risks. We have worked with many charitable groups, providing training, assisting with risk assessment and inspecting premises, ensuring high standards are maintained.
We like to support charities as much as possible and that is why we offer discounted rates, trying to ensure that as much money as possible is spent on the people that need it most.
